I Got Microblading in Salt Lake City… And It Was Gone in Six Months (Here’s What Actually Saved Me)
Okay, real talk: two years ago I walked out of a cute little Salt Lake studio with the most perfect, crisp brows I’d ever had. I was taking selfies in the car, texting my group chat “I finally have brows!!” …and then month six hit. One morning I looked in the mirror and half my left brow had straight-up ghosted me. The right one was hanging on for dear life, but looked like my five-year-old had colored it in with a dying marker. I was devastated.
I blamed myself at first — “It’s my oily skin, I’m too sweaty, I didn’t aftercare right.” Turns out, nope. Classic microblading just doesn’t love Utah oily/combo skin + dry mountain air + hard water. The pigment sits too shallow, oil pushes it out, and poof — you’re back to the pencil life faster than you can say “Zion sweat sesh.”
Fast-forward to last year when I finally let Patty and Jenny at 3D Brows in Draper talk me into the new hybrid nano + wet-powder combo everyone’s whispering about. I was skeptical (and honestly still salty from wasting $400), but girl… I’m at month 19 right now and my brows still look like I walked out of the studio yesterday. Fluffy nano strokes up front, that soft glossy tail in the back, no blur, no weird color shift, photographs like a dream. I wake up, throw on leggings, and actually feel cute before coffee.
If you’re reading this nodding your head going “yep, that’s my life,” you need to hear the full chaotic story (plus all the oily-girl secrets we only Utah artists know).
